re: 'Fun' Deeds

0

Greetings, Kinnies!

This post is about Fun Deeds.    Yes, there really is such a thing as a Fun Deed.  There are  a surprising number of them, and the variation is amazing.  The type of Fun Deed most folks are familiar with is the Emote Deed.   There are others though.  As  I mentioned in the "Deeding Basics" post, such deeds can range from Emotes to Jumping Off Things. Some of the Fun Deeds are:  Emote Deeds (yield either title or new emote); Eating Deeds; Festival Consumable Deeds; Jumping Off Things.  Let's explore some of these deeds.

Hidden Deeds:  A hidden deed is a deed that only shows up upon completion.  Until then, you have no idea that it even exists.

Emote  Deeds:  Some of the emotes have deeds attached.   [Receive 'x' number of 'y' emote (only 5 per day count) and get (title or new emote)]  Emote deeds are hidden deeds.

Eating Deeds:  These are deeds relating to food.   To do these deeds, one should be a cook, be friends with a cook, or be wealthy enough to pay a cook.  It can be expensive.   One eats so many hobbit breakfasts or so many vegetable dishes, or so many meat dishes.  These deeds award titles.

Festival Consumables:  These are items that can be purchased with festival tokens from the festival vendors.  These items are those things that are usually used to torment others.  D.R.A.G.O.N.; Snowballs; Black Silk Gloves; Gross Bugs; Piles of Fluffy Snow...All are examples of Festival Consumables.  Use one 300 times and it becomes a permanent skill.

Fishing Deeds:  There are some deeds relating to the fishing hobby.  When you catch a specific type of fish, if there is a deed attached, it will pop up then.   There is also a hidden fishing deed, so get out your rods and start fishing.  The reward for any of the fishing deeds is a special bound trophy with attached title.  There are also a couple of festival fishing deeds.

Jumping Off Things:  Yes, there really is a deed for this.  Actually, there are several that would come under this category, and some are hidden deeds.  You will come across most of them in your questing, but there is one, that, unless you are in the habit of jumping off everything higher than you are, or falling off anything higher than a chair, you will likely not come across it.  It is called  "The Pits of Moria", and its reward is a title.  Below is a quote from a post in the Lotro Forums (credit given following the excerpt) giving instructions on how to do this deed.

Thank you, Nikito, for sharing this with everyone.  This was a LOT of work.

The Pits of Moria(Hidden) - Title: Blind Leaper
Jump into different Moria pits. {Confirmed by Wyattik and personally}
*Note sometimes this does not register from lag. Apparently it has been noted that if you die from landing at the bottom, or survive the fall it doesnt count. You need to die by misadventure only*
-Jazargund (The Stone Hall) pits - go to 3.7s, 106.2w and jump West
-The Great Delving pits, north of The Dolven-view - go to 6.8s, 112.0w and jump East
-Menem-berej in Silvertine Lodes (The Forgotten Treasury) - go to 11.0s, 112.8w and jump South East
-The Grand Stair pits (outside the instance) - go to 10.4s, 104.0w and jump South West
-the lava pit at the Endless Stair in Nud-melek - go to 10.1s, 100.6w and jump East
-The Bridge of Khazad-dûm pit jumping in from as north as possible on the west side of it (jumping in from the bridge fragment doesn't work) - go to 7.2s, 99.8w and jump North East

(from "A Complete List of Moria Deeds, PoIs, and other info by R.A.I.D."  Posted in the Lotro Forums by Nikito.)

As you can see, there are quite a few "Fun" Deeds available.   These are all that came to mind.  You may find more of them.   A good source for some of them is Lotro-Wiki, but be aware that the page has many types of deeds and you may find spoilers among them.  See Social Deeds for a list.

Have Loads of FUN!
