re: Chicken Month

0

Greetings, Kinnies!

I like Session Play!  It matters not whether I'm playing as an animal, or, in the Epic Storyline, as an eyewitness/participant in the event.   Session play helps to show a different side of events.  That said, I cannot turn my world upside down and play a "creep".  Session play rarely, if ever, goes so far.  What is Session Play? Oh!  That is where one gets to play another being.  This is not a character of one's own making, but rather one of Turbine's making.  This may sound confusing, but it isn't really.  Once one has done it, all becomes much clearer.

Every year, the Bounders of the Shire Kinship host Chicken Month  (the month of August).  During this month, they will be hosting Chicken themed activities.  Among them are Chicken runs to far flung locations.  Folks wanting to successfully complete these quests may join.  Those who would like to help guard may also join in.   Below are links to explain all this.   As I have done both, I can say that it is fun to do either as a chicken or as a guard (Chicken Tender).  This year, The Bounders of the Shire will assist the Concerning Hobbits kinship, who will lead the last chicken quest, "Free Range", for the coveted title.

For the basic information, as well as many details (contains spoilers), go to this page on Chicken Play  and this page on Chicken Play Guide, both in lotro-wiki.  For information on Chicken Month and activities leading into it, read this post from the Bounders of the Shire kinsite. This year,  I am participating in this activity as far as possible.  It is a LOT of fun, and one can do it solo, or with friends.   It is much harder to do these runs solo, but for those looking for a challenge and who prefer to solo rather than group, here is a wonderful opportunity.

UPDATE:  Here is the link to the Free Range Run results.   It begins with the 3rd Run.
