re: Deeds/Quests and Loading

Greetings, Kinnies!

This post is to explain in interesting concept, that you may find useful to understand.

All information about the game is kept on the your server.   If you play on the Gladden server, then all information relating to the Gladden server is kept on the Gladden server.   If you play on the Brandywine server, then all information relating to the Brandywine server will be kept on the Brandywine server.  Your characters, your deeds, your quests, your achievements....All these things are kept on the server, however, they are kept in different locations on the server.   Let me try to explain more clearly.

Your character has quests and deeds to do.  The quests and deeds that have not yet been completed are stored with (or on)  your character.  The completed quests and deeds are stored elsewhere.  This is why the uncompleted quests and deeds show more quickly than the complete quests and deeds do.  Since the uncompleted quests and deeds are with your character, the server does not need to hunt them.   The completed quests and deeds, however, being stored elsewhere, must be hunted by the server.  This takes a bit longer, so there is a delay in response time.

This also relates to load time.   How?  Well, the more things that are stored with (or on) your character, the longer it takes the server to load the character.  This is why a new character loads almost instantly, where a high level character takes much longer.  The new character has little in the way of possessions, or anything else, for that matter.  The higher level character has full inventory bags, all cosmetic slots filled, and generally a large number of uncompleted quests and deeds.  To increase load time, one should complete as many of the quests and deeds as one can.  Once completed, they are no longer stored with one's character, so the server does not need to load them with the character.  This in turn will speed load time.   A character that has reached level cap, and has completed all quests and deeds, should load much faster than one that has not.  (Incidentally, although few of us will ever manage to do it, reducing  inventory in one's bags will also reduce load time.)

I hope that this helps folks understand a bit more about the game.
